Hello John.

I wanted to be sure to send you an email this week. There's lots going on in my life, and in your life right now. It'd be folly to not drop you a line.

First of all, congrats on starting your new job!! I'm so happy for you!! You're finally doing something in relation to your field! And most importantly, you're doing something that you love, something that you're uniquely qualified for! I hope that this job is a stepping stone to bigger and better things for you and Sarah in the future!

Also, thanks for the constant updates on Roger Federer! Sounds like we're back in the year 2015, when Novak is dominating the world tour, winning all of the titles that should have been Roger's. You'll have to keep me updated on how Roger does in the US Open this next week. And hopefully thr week after. I hadn't realized that the Football season was starting again so soon! The Steelers played their first preseason game a couple nights ago. Man, there is NOTHING crazier than Pittsburgh when the Steelers are playing, lemme tell you. Remember, I'm living vicariously through you, so be sure to watch those tennis matches for me!

Alright, now to the thing that I really wanted to talk to you about: I'm going to be training a new missionary soon. If you've been paying attention to the calendar, I'm almost at 15 months, the same point in your mission when you started training and started experiencing so much difficulty.

I've been a little apprehensive about this for a while now. As you know, I've experience some problems with anxiety and depression on my mission as well. We are more alike than we thought! I guess what I'm trying to ask is... What is it that caused you to freak out at this point of your mission? What type of thoughts were running through your head? What can I do to ensure that I don't have a similar experience? I'm excited to train, but a little nervous for obvious reasons. I really don't need another trigger, you know?

Anyways, that's all I got. Hope you're doing okay, and that you continue to thrive in Arizona. Love you bud.

Elder Jake Gonzales
