NOV_5_18_GROUP_PITT_Week of November 5, 2018

Hey everybody!

Can you believe it's already November? I feel like October came and went in the blink of an eye. Before we know it, it'll be Thanksgiving, and then we'll be getting all geared up for Christmas. Goodness. Time is a weird thing. Especially as a missionary.

Our investigator Rose is doing really well! She's still progressing like mad and will likely be baptized before the end of this month! Unfortunately, shes in Florida visiting her sister right now, so we haven't been able to meet with her since Tuesday. As a result, I most likely won't be here for her baptism Transfers are on November 20th and her baptism is now set for the 24th. I'm a little bummed to be missing her baptismal service, but I'm just so grateful that I've had the opportunity to teach and get to know her!!

We also had a new investigator come to church this week, Yvonne. The entire time, she was remarking how impressed she was, and how wonderful she felt. The ward did a fantastic job of fellowshipping her! The only problem: we still haven't even taught her the first lesson! Every time we have scheduled to come, something inevitably comes up and we have to reschedule. But we're hoping to get in her door sometime this week!

A bunch of other highlights from the week:
- A movie starring Seth Rogan was filming right in front of our apartment!! My companion and I walked by Seth Rogan and may or may not have breathed the same air as him. No biggie. (For those of you who don't know who Seth Rogan is, he is the voice of the Praying Mantis in Kung Fu Panda )
- A member in our ward surprised us on Saturday by spontaneously buying us 60 dollars worth of groceries. Gosh, it's the little things that matter, right?
- Another member may or may not have cast a spell on me during dinner. All I know is she kept muttering, "Maria Maria Maria. Gonzales Gonzales Gonzales." under her breath. I think she was trying to establish some sort of mental connection between us? Either way, it was weird.
- A less active took us to get some authentic Mexican Street Tacos in Pittsburgh. Hands down one of the best meals I've had on my mission. I miss California sometimes.

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers!! I love you all and am so grateful for your continual support!

Elder Gonzales
