Hey Mom!
Man, I'm so happy that James has completed his mission! I can only imagine the wonders he accomplished over there in Florida. I've seen some recent pictures of him, and you're absolutely right, he's definitely lost QUITE a bit of weight. He looks great! Like a toned Polynesian football player. And then there's me haha. I've gained 15 pounds in this area lol. Which makes absolutely no sense because we've had no member meals. I guess just because me and Elder Toomer have eaten nothing but crap?
It's all good, though. I can afford to put on a few pounds.
Yay! Basketball season has started!! We're in that time of year where both football and basketball are happening at the same time! I'm bummed Elijah Bryant is no longer playing for us, but it sounds like we've got a pretty seasoned group of guys coming back. I know last season was pretty standard, and we managed to beat Utah, so hopefully with one extra year under their belts, they can accomplish something even more special!
Elder Toomer's dad served in South Africa! I just asked Elder Toomer to ask his parents, and his dad says he remembers them! That's a pretty cool connection! I knew his dad served in South Africa, but I never thought to ask him if he served at the same time as Granny and Grandpa. Oh, the irony.
Gosh, I could train Jacob Dillender. That's pretty freaking weird. I hope I don't train next transfer, though, because that would mean we would most likely get doubled into an area, and I really don't want to have that experience on my mission. Jacob Dillender should be coming with a large group of missionaries, something like 30. In the last 3 transfers, we've had almost 90 missionaries come into the mission, with very few leaving. Basically, the whole mission is young right now. It's weird.
I put most of my weekly activities in my weekly email to the masses this week. So I don't really know what else to tell you! It's been a good week. Hopefully this next week is just as good (except it probably won't be because I'm going on exchanges with a prideful Elder on Thursday
)
I feel like my emails to you get more and more boring each week! Just much of the same. Lots of finding. Lots of funny door approaches. Lots of embarrassment. Lots of growth. I'm excited for what this next week will bring!
Love you Mom!
