 Brother John,

Yeah, buying the ukulele probably wasn't the smartest move in the world. But I already apologized to mom and assured her that I wouldn't do anything like it again. So that's the end of that. I am really happy to have a ukulele, though. It has given me something relaxing to do during my free time that I have later at night. Because writing letters and writing in my journal just gets old sometimes, you know? I'm gonna try to learn Church music, so that'll be fun.

Daredevil is a crazy show, but I love it too. I'm not so sure about the Jessica Jones one, though. I hear it's pretty explicit and dirty, so I never watched it. The Iron Fist one looked pretty cool, though. You should give that one a try. Enjoy Netflix. I miss it.

Sorry about the librarian job. I guess it just wasn't meant to be. I'll keep praying for you throughout the rest of this week. You'll get your big break. I know you will.

Thanks for your constant letters. You da best. I hope you know that.

Hey Jacob!

So when you told us you were going to buy a Ukulele, I thought you meant a cheapee one, no more than $19.99. But no. You had to go all out, and on an account that mom can see and check. Not a very good move, but oh well, what can you do now? Hopefully you get some good use out of that Uke. Learn all the children songs you can, and also learn the hymns as well, the best you can. When I was on my mission, I borrowed a guitar for a week or so, partly so I could play in Zone Conference. People used my skills a lot so that they could have a good piano/guitar player. I did learn a song called Tu, by Enrique Iglesias for Celso and Bertha's wedding reception. Also, I learned a Sin Banderas song with Elder Delgado. Elder Porter made me give the guitar back.  He was the strict one. My district leader at the time, Elder Dylan Hall was very cool about me having a guitar and even was curious enough to want me to learn it.

It's been a pretty boring week. I am in continual contact with my girlfriend. She was going to come to Cali next week but then she remembered that she had to play the piano for choir next week, so she'll possibly be here in two weeks.

I am pretty sure I didn't get the librarian job because I haven't been contacted since they made the decision on Monday and tomorrow is the first day of school. I applied for another librarian job at Grant Elementary, so maybe my odds are greater this time. I might apply for a position in the city of Rancho, but we'll see. I got everything figured out for subbing and hopefully I can get a few jobs this week and perfect weeks the weeks on.

Mom started with kids two days ago and tomorrow is her first full week with the kids. She already know that "Josue" is going to be a real pain in the neck.

I started watching Daredevil and believe me, I'm hooked. The Netflix series The Defenders comes out next week and it seems to be an eight episode crossover between Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist...so I have several episodes to watch before I can actually watch that TV show. I sometimes wish there were more hours in the day.

There is a YSA conference happening next week, and we have church at 3pm on Sunday in Redlands. Should be a good turn out of 22 stakes. Last year there were 700 in the chapel and like 4 or 5 Sacrament tables being blessed.

I hope you are doing fine. Let us know what's going on with you. I'm grateful for your selfless service. You are a beacon of hope it a foggy world. Have a good P-day.

Love,

John
